The Boy ( 2015 )
Music / Ambience
Ted Henley, played by Jared Breeze, gives an excellent performance as a young sociopath who is also helping his father manage their dying motel business which Ted is intended to one day inherit. Ted wants nothing more than to leave the place behind.
This movie was overall pretty good, increasingly disturbing as it went on but at the same time increasingly strange. You don't know when to feel sorry for him or to call in a priest to have an exorcism performed.
One major highlight is Rainn Wilson who becomes an unwilling guest at the motel, befriending Ted but also harboring his own demons.
The ambient scoring is also quite good and serves the film well.
If it weren't for some of the stranger moments in the movie I would have enjoyed it much more but it's certainly well worth checking out if you're a fan of the genre.
